I have had a rather stressful week, not from work but from other things that have come up. Not much sleep either...my mind has been somewhat restless...
Yesterday I got some time in peace to finish this picture though. It made me a little bit calmer.

I do not know you

I`ve added a new print in my shop!

This picture just came to me (as pictures usually do) while I drew. I wanted to tell about a dream I once had but this ended up telling another story...Well, strange things happens while drawing.
It`s something creepy about that rabbit-person, I don`t think I like him, and I certainly don`t know who he is. Is he a friend or a demon?

New painting finished! I`ve called it "Everything is just as it should be" and I don`t know why.

A tiny update...

This is what I have inside my mind just now...I did this odd little schetch in about 10 seconds, I am not gonna use it for anything. Just wanted to show you what`s going on in my uncounciousness.

The Juggler

This is a new version of my Juggler Girl and the tree white houses.
I don`t know why it turned out ochre-coloured but i ended up enjoying this goldish background...
It has a special light in it and was right for the atmosphere i was seeking.

Capture of the Moon and new prints update

The Balloon

I have been pencil-drawing a lot these days and came up with this little Rabbit holding a Balloon.
My immedeat thought was that he had to be placed beside a circus-tent, I don`t know why I got this idea but I knew I had to draw the tent.

This is a digital collage, and why I love this technique is obvious: I can put into the picture everything I want, and move them around as I please. This suits me because I can be very impulsive in my working progress.

And this picture turned out very interesting for me when I suddenly realised that the Balloon also could seem to be the Moon..! Has the Rabbit boy actually captured the Moon?

Sudden harmony

This picture is about the harmony that suddenly appeared with the first sight of snow.
You know, the beautiful silence when little snowflakes just begin to fall from the sky. It`something so very calming about it.

Winter Day

Suddenly the snow was here, a thin white layer covering everything. And I felt really happy for a moment, everything seemed so much lighter.

This is about a secret meeting that took place one of these November nights,
in the pale light of a moon that was almost invisible...
What they were talking about, -if they talked at all, we never will know.

And now my newest vintage-find! This porcelain dog was actually speaking to me (or should I say playing the violin)! I find him iresistable, even though I normally fancy cats. He is an exception.

In her room

This girl stays way too much in her room. Her dress has already started to merge with the wallpaper. But actually she doesn`t care much if she ends up invisible.

This started out as a pencildrawing as usual which I put it into photoshop for some colours and patterns. The wallpaper is actually the pattern of a paper napkin.

I am fascinated by this overloaded "chandelier-ish" candlelight that I found in a magazin. I had to use it in a picture.

I like this photo so much. Julius (my cat) is filled with happiness when I take his picture.
Makes me so glad. This is a ten-year-old cat and I can see he still is that little kitten inside.

"I`ll put the kettle on!" Perhaps i didn`t even spell it right, but anyway, so much cosiness and comfort lie in this sentence.

The Longing by the Tree

This is my latest work and I`ve called it The Longing by the Tree.
The poor girl is troubled with this intense feeling of desire for something she`s not yet able to identify. What I`m trying to say is that she don`t know what she is longing for. She just has this black hole inside her that needs to be repaired or filled with something.

At last...

At last a little update from me...
It`s the summer holidays, I am at home and so are my children...
That means not much time to work and update my blog!
It has been so rainy these last days, I can`t remember having seen the sun for days. But it doesn`t matter for me, I have allways been one of those nerds who likes to sit in her room and do indoor things...like drawing, tidying and organizing my stuff, reading etc.
Inside I am still that nerdie child. It`s just now I have children and is supposed to be a Mum...(How did that happen..?)
My children like to do indoor things as well. But I really can`t concentrate, they make a lot of noise....and so they should. They are children and are not supposed to act like adults.
We were recently invited to my brothers wedding and this is the gift I made them, I`ve called it "The Lovers".
I had to put in the piano, they are both musicians...
They had a beautiful wedding, and they suit eachother so well...I wish them the best of luck.
I`ll try to update here a bit oftener, but if I don`t you know why...

Laziness and flowers that are withered

I found this in my garden...(I think it is so more expressive when black and white)
-And I haven`t given up blogging, I am just being lazy. We are not used to all this warmth here in our country. It has been the hottest June for ages they say.

Veranda

Finally the summer feeling is here!
It`s warm and nice to sit at our veranda these days.
(Well, actually I spend most of my daytime working in front of the computer
-but anyway it`s nice to know the summer is just outside our doorstep.)

My desk...

From my desk...I have my own workspace, actually it`s in the basement, but I`ve painted the walls white and put on some good light. Besides, there are two little windows that also let in some good light espescially now in the summertime. This is where I paint, draw and do handmade pictures.

Upstairs in our house there is another little space for me where I have my computer and the internet. I tend to use too much time in front of the computer with my beloved Photoshop instead of painting by hand. But I feel inspired, I`m gonna finish that painting I`m working on!

The Card Player

This picture is about the man who used to play his cards every evening at the kitchen table...
Until the day day he started to think about the meaning of life...

We have this weird celebration...

In Norway we celebrate the 17th of May every year. It`s our National Day.
I, myself, have some ambivalent thoughts about this celebration because it makes me a bit embarressed. Thousands of norwegians waving the norwegian flags dressed up in their best costumes, eating icecream and cakes while shouting "Hurray!" and singing romantic-national songs.
Well, it`s a fun day for the children. They can eat as much icecream they want and the brass-band marches in the streets.
And off course, I also loved it when I was a child.

But if I didn`t have little children of my own now, I guess I`d rather just stay at home this day working with my art...

This is a photocollage I did using an old photography of some nice looking women with hats.
Two of them were actually related to me, they were sisters to my great grand mother. (Number 1 and 3 from left, back)
It`s strange to think that they are all dead now, they look so alive.

The lost Girl

A little lost girl. What will she do?
This is a photocollage were I have melted several photos and drawings together into one picture.
I like the mysterious atmosphere here, it`s something dreamy about it.
In fact I was listening to the Doors while making this. The song You`re lost little Girl inspired me to make this picture.
